Layout and sketch

I posted a new sketch challenge on the Noteable forum. http://www.noteablekit.com/ I hope you'll join me in making a layout using it. I had fun using lots of goodies for the little blocks and circles. You could also use small photos.

This layout is for my album with pictures of Elizabeth on the day of her one month birthday. :)

Happy scrapping!

Menu Planning Monday!

Well, after a couple of weeks of failed meal planning, I decided that I need to have crock pot meals EVERYDAY! Seriously, it is the only way dinner is going to get made in this household for a while. At least until Elizabeth makes things a little easier on me. I can start the crock pot anytime that I can actually put her down long enough to get a few things thrown in there and cook on high or low depending on the time of day. (Oh, and they have to be EASY CP recipes!)Soooo...here's the plan that I can hopefully stick to.

Monday- Burritos with CP pork chili verde (a pork roast with green enchilada sauce, green chilis, cumin, garlic and a few other seasonings...I generally wing it) and beans
Tuesday- Pasta and meatballs (frozen meatballs in the CP with some jar spag. sauce)
Wednesday- CP White chicken chili and rice
Thursday- CP Taco Soup
Friday- CP Sesame pork ribs (new recipe), rice and carrots
Saturday- CP BBQ chicken (just chicken with bottled BBQ sauce), mac and cheese, green beans Sunday- Frozen skillet meal (gourmet, huh?)

Taco Soup- crock pot

You can make this on the stove top but I usually use the crock pot so it is ready whenever we are.
Taco Soup
1 package dry ranch dressing (1/4 cup)
1 package taco seasoning (1/4 cup)
½ -1 lb ground beef-browned and drained
1 can corn
1 can pinto beans
1 can black beans
1 can diced tomatoes

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in big pot and simmer for at least an hour. Or cook all day in a crock pot. Serve with shredded cheese, chips and sour cream.

White Chicken Chili- crock pot

White Chicken Chili- Crock pot
1 can great northern beans-drained
1-2 chicken breasts
1 small can of diced green chilis
3 cups chicken broth
2 tsp cumin
½ tsp oregano
1 tsp chili power
2-4 garlic cloves chopped
1 cup chopped onion
Add all ingredients and cook all day on low. Serve with shredded cheese and sour cream. Chopped cilantro is good on it, too. Serve alone or over rice.

**Sometimes I add some corn to this and I usually add a couple TBS of instant tapioca to thicken it an hour or so before eating.

Two weeks old (and a sketchapalooza layout!)

Elizabeth is two weeks old (yesterday). Here's a new photo of her-

And I know she's not supposed to be able to smile yet, but we've caught a few glimpses of what seemed like smiles to us!! (And not while she was sleeping! ;) ) She also really seems to like looking at her big brother!!

And not to leave Abby out...here's a layout for her album that I completed during the last sketchapalooza class on Feeling Scrappy. This layout was based on a sketch by our guest designer Tracy Kosofsky.
We have a holiday class called "Simplify the Season" starting very soon and another sketch class coming up after that...check out the details here- http://feelingscrappyclasses.blogspot.com/search/label/Classes
